Dr. Russell Lam is board-certified in vascular and endovascular surgery. He specializes in minimally invasive therapy for peripheral arterial disease (PAD), aortic aneurysm, carotid artery stenosis and stroke prevention and varicose veins. He holds multiple certifications and advanced training in carotid artery stenting, thoracic and abdominal aneurysm stent-graft repair, complex peripheral arterial disease treatments including atherectomy and pedal access for total occluded arteries.
Dr. Lam is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine and completed his vascular and endovascular fellowships at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and at Cornell University Medical Center. Dr. Lam has performed more than 10,000 complex interventions and has been credited with preventing thousands of leg amputations. Dr. Lam has been in practice since 2007 and has quickly emerged as a nationally recognized expert in complex peripheral arterial and venous interventional procedures.
He maintains a very busy practice which includes a large referral network from his colleagues. As a result, he has gained great respect among his colleagues for tackling the tough cases and from his tireless efforts to train and educate them in the latest minimally invasive treatments for peripheral arterial disease.
Dr. Lam is the Medical Director of Endovascular Surgery at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and is also the Chief of Vascular Surgery at Dallas Medical Center Hospital. Dr. Lam serves as the principal investigator in many clinical trials and is course director of numerous physician endovascular training courses. He writes numerous articles and gives many presentations nationally on peripheral arterial disease and complex peripheral interventions.
As a pioneer in minimally invasive peripheral arterial disease treatments, Dr. Lam founded The Limb Salvage Center at Lam Vascular & Associates, which is a state-of-the-art, nationally accredited, outpatient vascular center dedicated to performing complex peripheral vascular interventions without requiring hospital admission or overnight stay. For patients and their families, the convenience of an outpatient center that focuses on their individual and medical needs with minimal paperwork, and knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate staff is a truly unique experience in health care.
He also founded The Vein Center at Lam Vascular & Associates where his colleagues care for patients suffering from venous issues such as venous insufficiency, varicose veins, spider veins and more. They are dedicated to comprehensive care and opting for minimally invasive, in-office procedures whenever possible.
