Dr. Russell is an Orthopedic surgeon subspecializing in all aspects of spine surgery, including cervical, lumbar degenerative disorders and other spinal deformities. Dr. Russell received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and received his Medical Doctorate from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He spent five years training in a general orthopedic surgery residency at Southwestern Medical School at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. During his residency, Dr. Russell spent three months practicing orthopedic and spine surgery in the National Health Service in East Anglia, England. Dr. Russell furthered his training by completing a fellowship in spine surgery at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Russell has been presented with several prestigious honors. In 2013 Becker’s Hospital Review awarded Dr. Russell, along with 20 other leading spine surgeons from around the country, with the Spine Leadership Award. Again in 2014, Becker’s recognized Dr. Russell as one of the top 250 spine surgeons in the nation. 2016 was a good year for Dr. Russell; he was recognized by Becker’s as one of the top 350 spine surgeons in the country.
