Don Buford, MD has been in practice in Dallas for 20+ years and has been recognized multiple times as one of the best orthopedic surgeons in Dallas by his peers in multiple publications. Dr. Buford specializes in regenerative medicine and arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery. He has been at the forefront of merging orthobiologics with orthopedic surgery over the past decade, publishing multiple papers and presented at multiple national and international meetings. He is very involved in surgeon education and in new product development.
Dr. Buford is the founder of the Texas Orthobiologics Institute (www.orthobiotexas.com). We treat patients with evidence based orthobiologic injections like platelet rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow concentrate/stem cell injections. These injections are used to help patients with sports injuries, pain and dysfunction from arthritis, and other musculoskeletal injuries. These emerging orthobiologic therapies can also be used to improve surgical results for some injuries.
Dr. Buford completed a 5 year orthopedic surgery residency at the UTSW in Dallas. Dr. Buford completed a 1 year sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Southern California Orthopaedic Institute (SCOI) where he learned advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques.
