Dr. Satu Kuokkanen is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and holds a PhD in genetics. She completed her residency and fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/ Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Her multi-level clinical and research experience, combined with her genetics education, have allowed for a unique medical perspective when treating infertility. She enjoys overcoming the challenges that infertility diagnoses present as well as using science and personalized care to create successful pregnancies. She prides herself on compassionate and tenacious patient care. Her special areas of interest include female and male infertility,fertility preservation, unexplained infertility, recurrent IVF failure and preimplantation genetic testing. Dr. Kuokkanen is active member of American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and serves as the Chair of ASRM special interest group. In this role, she planned several presentations for the Annual ASRM meeting in October 2018. Dr. Kuokkanen was teh member scientific program committee for the annual North American Menopause Society NAMS 2020. She has published her research in a wide range of peer-reviewed manuscripts and reviews. Dr. Kuokkanen actively participates in reviewing manuscripts and scientific abstracts. Additionally, Dr. Kuokkanen is active in the community and she has served as the secretory for the Nassau OB/GYN society since 2015.
