Raja Flores, MD, is a world-renowned thoracic surgeon recognized for his technical expertise and lifelong dedication to the treatment of lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mesothelioma, and other asbestos-related diseases. His extensive research has resulted in more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and over 300 presentations delivered worldwide. In addition to his clinical and academic work, he has performed surgeries internationally and served as the Principal Investigator of a $4.8 million RO1 grant investigating the effects of asbestos contamination in Libby, Montana. Dr. Flores received his medical education and training at New York University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Columbia University, and Harvard University. He is Professor and Founding Chairman of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
