Dr. Neil Tanna is a Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, and body. Beyond his plastic surgery clinical practice, Dr. Neil Tanna is a leader, respected educator, and prolific author. He serves as Professor of Surgery and Associate Program Director of Plastic Surgery at Northwell Health.

Dr. Tanna is among a very small group of Plastic Surgeons in the world to have completed formal training in Otolaryngology, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and Microvascular Surgery. After completing his medical training in one of the few combined six-year accelerated track medical programs in the country, Dr. Tanna spent an additional eight years training to become a Plastic Surgeon. He completed a full Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery residency at The George Washington University. He then pursued further training and completed a second full residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This was followed by a fellowship in advanced reconstructive and microvascular surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University (NYU).

Dr. Neil Tanna is passionate about the art and science of Plastic Surgery. His work has been published in over 80 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious medical journals. He has been invited to present at over 100 national and international scientific meetings. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons.

As a leader in the field, Dr. Tanna has been featured in national and international media outlets. He has appeared on television and in award-winning newspapers and magazines. Among several noteworthy honors and awards, Dr. Tanna has also been listed in the Castle Connolly Top Doctors, New York Times Super Doctors, and Newsday Top Doctors lists. This is a prestigious honor that is reserved for the top percentage of practitioners that are true standouts in their field and nominated by their peers. Dr. Neil Tanna is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with Northwell Health, the largest healthcare provider in New York. Outside of his busy clinical practice, he is a leader, educator and prolific author. Dr. Tanna also trains the next generation of medical professionals at the visionary Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. The school is built upon the strong clinical and graduate medical education programs of Northwell Health, Hofstra, and the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research.

He serves as a Professor of Surgery at Zucker School of Medicine and Associate Program Director of Plastic Surgery at Northwell Health. In 2018, Dr. Tanna was promoted to the rank of Professor of Plastic Surgery, making him one of the youngest full professors at Northwell Health. This title was granted after rigorous internal and external review of Dr. Tanna’s extraordinary accomplishments. This rank has national significance, as the average full professor in the United States is 55 years old. Dr. Tanna helps embodies Northwell Health mission to deliver high quality care to patients by being the one of the world’s best caregivers and foremost scholars.
