Dr. Ankit Dhamija is a board-certified thoracic surgeon at Stony Brook Medicine, specializing in minimally invasive and robotic approaches to lung cancer, pulmonary nodules, esophageal disease, mediastinal tumors, and chest wall disorders. As Director of Robotic Thoracic Surgery and Director of the Lung Cancer and Chest Disease Center, he leads a multidisciplinary team that prioritizes thoughtful evaluation, clear communication, and individualized care. His practice offers comprehensive services—from lung cancer screening and smoking-cessation pathways to robotic bronchoscopy, anatomic lung resections, esophagectomy, and complex reoperative surgery—aiming to reduce pain, shorten recovery, and help patients return to life quickly and safely. An active educator and investigator, Dr. Dhamija advances clinical outcomes and develops AI-enabled imaging tools to improve nodule risk stratification.
