Patrick Carter, M.D., is a 2019 Texas Super Doctors® Honoree and Medical Director for Care Coordination and Quality Improvement and Chief of Family Medicine at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. He received undergraduate degrees in Honors Biology and Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Carter has a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in 1982. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and holds the ABFM’s Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. He is also certified as a Physician Executive by the American College of Physician Executives. “I try to have open, friendly relationships with my patients so that they can feel comfortable asking and telling me anything. I enjoy seeing patients over long periods of time, because I feel a long-term doctor-patient relationship is the best way to give and receive medical care. I also like to laugh and have fun with my patients; I think it often does more good than medications,” says Dr. Carter. He cares for patients at Kelsey-Seybold’s Berthelsen Main Campus.
