Profile

Dr. Krakower is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and general psychiatry and currently holds a private practice in Long Island. He is Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is an assistant professor in psychiatry at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, and teaches medical students, psychology students, residents, and fellows.  

Dr. Krakower has been at Long Island Jewish Medical Center since 2006, where he was chief resident and chief fellow of the training programs in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Krakower is the assistant unit chief of the adolescent inpatient unit at Zucker Hillside Hospital and was former medical director of the Mineola Community Treatment Center for addiction disorders.

Dr. Krakower was a graduate from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and a summa cum laude graduate from the University of Florida honors program.  Dr. Krakower comes with a background in biomedical and clinical research and provides expert opinion on psychiatry and addiction disorders globally.
